Disney Live Australia was established in the early 1990’s and was the first time Disney had a local production arm for live shows and events in Australia, under the guidance of John Berrick. John Rowe was an integral part of the Disney team initially as a performer, but then also as a musical and vocal director and as a contributor to the creative production team.
Besides performing in numerous Disney corporate events and showcases throughout Australia and in Japan, John was musical & vocal director for local productions of Rock Around the Mouse, Mickey’s Toontown, and Disney/Henson’s Dinosaurs. He also contributed creatively to presentations for major clients involving the Disney classic characters along with movie favourites like Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Jungle Book, and Disney TV staples like Chip 'n' Dale and Darkwing Duck.
In 1993, he musically directed Disney’s performance for Carol’s In the Domain, a major concert event performed in front of 100,000 people at Sydney’s Domain and beamed live through Australia and the Pacific region.
