Power Rangers Live
The live stage production featured interactive multimedia content displayed on a central screen built into the set design. On-screen video scenes interacted with the live story on stage, made up of a multitude of existing footage from the TV series re-edited and re-voiced to form new sequences based on the live story line. This was interspersed with animated graphic sequences to accompany live action, which were designed using various graphic assets from the licensor's library along with newly created elements. Audio production, voice direction and creative direction by John Rowe.

Oddbods
This live stage production featured a highly interactive multimedia component displayed on a large LED screen built into the set design. Animated graphics of a cartoon style computer program appeared to be controlled by the live host character via a remote on stage, and the Oddbods animated characters "popped off" the screen and onto stage. These sequences were generated using a mix of still graphic assets from the Oddbods library and additional components created by our graphic artist in the style of the show. Other graphic sequences accompanied musical numbers for added impact. Finally, various scenes from the series starring more Oddbods characters were edited and included as part of the story to tie the on stage action to the animated realm on screen. This video includes a rough voice recording of the scripted live dialogue read by John Rowe, showing the interactivity between the live and video elements. Smurfs Live On Stage.
The Smurfs Live On Stage is a large scale touring musical based on the world famous Smurf characters. The show design was inspired by the classic Smurf artwork - represented on stage by giant sized traditional set pieces and oversized props in front of a full sized cyc / screen with rear projected artwork as a backdrop. The artwork for the projections was hand drawn by the IMPS/Smurfs Studio in Belgium, before being transformed into a colourised graphic version on computer. Several versions were made to represent the same scene in different states (from snowy winter to bright floral spring). Finally, subtle animated elements were added to bring life to the backdrop and sometimes to aid in the storytelling (sun rises, dark clouds blowing in, flowers blooming etc). The show playback consisted of multitrack audio (music, character voices, underscore, SFX and amtosphere), as well as the synced video feed to the projector. As both director and composer for the show, John Rowe was responsible for the creative direction of all multimedia components, both video and audio. He was also responsible for the artistic direction of publicity events. The above clip is an edited music and video file used for one such event - a live TV performance in Singapore.

Furby Live on Stage
This live show was to promote the reboot of the highly successful Furby toy, and the new interactive app software that comes with it. Live show emcees hosted a Furby party live on stage with 2 giant sized Furbys. They used their iPad style tablets on stage to control various Furby behaviours and games like feeding, playing music, translating Furby to English etc, which was displayed via a pre-made video on a giant screen central to the stage design. Without access to the app developers raw components, we had to re-create the app graphics and behaviours for the video. Graphic assets from the Furby licensing library were used to develop highly stylised karaoke-style animated graphic backrounds. Audio editing & production, and creative direction by John Rowe.

Winter Dream
A bespoke live musical show created for Vivocity in Singapore, and performed in an outdoor amphitheatre on the roof of the shopping centre. It featured live actors, singers, dancers and specialty acts in a story loosley based on the Russian fairy tale of The Snow Maiden. The show design featured a simple front projected centre piece, and a series of graphic images used as backdrops, along with some basic animations to depict scene changes and simple effects. The visual images were paired with the pre-recorded music soundtrack to create a simple but effective multi-media component to the live performance. Directed by John Rowe.
